← back to the garden our mission

getting paid shouldn’t be the hard part.

clocksprout exists because the work was never the problem. the paperwork was.

local-first · your money is yours · plain words · a garden, not a spreadsheet

why it exists

late money, surprise taxes, unread pdfs.

freelancers and students do the work first and chase the money second. the invoice goes out late, the payment lands later, and april arrives with a tax bill nobody set aside for.

the contract, if there is one, is a pdf nobody reads — least of all the client who has to sign it.

so it gets skipped, and the one time it matters, it isn’t there. we think the fix is smaller than a finance app. track the hours where you can see them. send one agreement your client can actually read. let them sign and pay on the same page. keep a slice for taxes before it feels like yours.

what we believe

four things we won’t trade away.

  • local-first. your garden lives on your machine. we can’t see it, and we don’t want to.
  • your money is yours. payments go straight to your own stripe account. we never touch or hold them.
  • plain words. if a sentence needs a glossary, it gets rewritten. that goes for the contract too.
  • a garden, not a spreadsheet. the point isn’t the number. it’s noticing you showed up today.

who makes it

one freelance designer in the midwest.

clocksprout is made by one person who bills by the hour too, between client work. every screen was tried on a real client before it was shown to anyone else.

it is small on purpose. no team features, no phone app, no integrations to babysit — a windows app, a garden, and a page your client can read.
